Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar Monday filed a fresh appeal against a ban for indiscipline just weeks after the punishment was reduced from five years to 18 months, his lawyer said.
The 32-year-old paceman was banned for five years by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) disciplinary committee in April for several incidents of indiscipline and violating the conditions of a two-year probation.

VIRENDER Sehwag produced a superb innings of 119 today to power India to a crushing six-wicket win over Pakistan in their Asia Cup match in Karachi.
Sehwag scored his ninth one-day century in a 198-run second wicket partnership with Suresh Raina (84) to guide India to 4-301 after 42.1 overs in reply to Pakistan’s total of 4-299.

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif has been detained at Dubai airport for possession of illegal drugs, a Pakistan Cricket Board official said on Tuesday.
“Yes, he has been detained by authorities at Dubai airport for the last 36 hours,” Nadeem Akram told Reuters from Dubai.
“We are co-ordinating with the Pakistan embassy and handling this issue.

The 32-year-old paceman was banned for five years last month for breaching the players’ code of conduct by criticising the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) when it did not offer him a central contract in January.

Shoaib Akhtar will not be allowed to play in the Indian Premier League despite being cleared by the Pakistan Cricket board, IPL chairman Lalit Modi has said, putting to rest all the speculation over the fast bowler’s participation in the tournament.
Shoaib had been banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board for five years on charges of indiscipline, but a PCB panel confirmed he was free to play outside the country.
