SC to hear disqualification of Nawaz Sharif case in next week

Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar has constituted three benches of the Supreme Court in the next week starting from July 14 (Monday) for the hearing of hundreds of cases at Islamabad including case of disqualification of former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and suo-motu case of commutation death sentence into life imprisonment besides others.

According to the cause list issued by the fixture department of the Supreme Court for next week, all the three benches comprising Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, Justice Muhammad Qaim Jan Khan (Bench-I), Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and Justice M.Javed Buttar (Bench-II) and Justice Moosa K.Leghari, Justice Muhammad Akhtar Shabbir and Justice Muhammad Farrukh Mehmood (Bench-III) will hear cases at Islamabad.

The fixture department has already mentioned on the top of cause list that “No application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the court. If the counsel is unable to appear for any reason the Advocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case.”

According to the cause list, a three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan will hear a number of important cases on Monday including the suo-motu case about the reported decision of the federal government to commute death sentence into life imprisonment, case of Haj quota to private Haj operators and case of handing over of Ghulam Haider Raeesani to Iran besides others.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Moosa K. Leghari will hear appeals of the Federation and others in the case of disqualification of former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Monday.
