Three more killed, several injured in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Three more persons were killed, several injured and many shops were set on fire in the Karachi violence, which continued on second consecutive day today (Sunday).
While at least 36 people were killed, over 150 people were injured and over 75 vehicles were torched yesterday.
Fresh violence was reported at Banaras Chowk, Qasba Colony near Quaidabad, Orangi Town, Gulbarg, Lyari, Superhighway, Aurangabad in Nazimabad and other areas.
Four shops and a petrol pump were set on fire in Gulbarg. Some shops and a petrol pump were also set on fire at Water Pump.
The Water Pump fire has also spread to a market. The fire fighters along with a fire brigade are trying to extinguish the fire.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested over 50 people who were allegedly involved in the violence.
